“Iskwelang kwela ‘to dito’y enjoyable
konting aral lang konting bulakbol
dito nang lahat, madaldal at bulol
dito na nga, Iskul Bukol!”
or maybe this:
“konting aral, konting bulakbol, madaldal at bulol,
dala sa Senado aral nya sa Wanbol;
dissertation thesis na “turno en contra”
sa Wanbol din galing research staff nya”
And his statement “Why should I quote a blogger?” smacks of ignorance. Tito Escalera from Wanbol University would have been very proud.
I can imagine the good Senator saying: “Oh sh*t! That went out really wrong!”…the way he answered Karen Davilla’s 1 Million Peso question. Malamang guest host na naman mamaya yan sa Eat Bulaga to make bawi and explain to death his ignoramus blunders…LOL!
Ang hirap ng nagsisinungaling! Ika nga, however you hide it, TRUTH WILL COME OUT.
As the Bubble Gang people would shout: BOOM!!!
And the people speak out! Read On!
Give Caesar what is Caesar’s
Honorable(?) Senator Sotto, is it hard to be a MAN — for a change? Your Senate speech is not in any shape, manner or form a segment in EAT BULAGA or ISKUL BUKOL. Where you can just spout or mouth whatever your scriptwriter feeds you. You are in the Upper House of the Congress of the Philippines, not in a Channel 7 studio. Whatever you say in the Senate MUST be YOUR belief, YOUR stand, YOUR credo, YOUR OWN WORDS.
If perchance exigency compels you to “borrow” some other people’s words/works, you gotta give them DUE CREDIT, as the Bard from Avon who I am sure you are familiar as an English major said, “give Caesar what is Caesar’s”, or something like that.
So confess na, dude. It will make you a REAL man. English major ka naman pala. Eh ako na hindi alam ko ang paggamit ng credit o quotaton marks when using other people’s work/material. As an ENGLISH MAJOR, you should be way more knowledgeable than us mere mortals like perennial baliktorian Jimmy Santos — and ME! Tama ba?
I do believe Senator Tito Sotto has lied during the live interview by Karen Davila.
Before the interview, he knows exactly that particular question will be raised, so his only answer is “PAREHO KAMI NG PINAGKUNAN.”
He even mentioned “HINDI AKO NAG DUDUNONG-DUNUNGAN”. Pero nagmamarunong.
What an actor!! But his body language tells it all. HE LIED. He knows now that his staff just copied from different blogs, word per word and even typo and grammar mistakes like the comma.
There he is – openly against the RH bill without further researching, fact-finding, asking questions from medical practitioners or health care workers, and instead mainly relying on articles from blogs, from newspaper clippings and editorial comments?
Disappointing!!!
He got caught copying and lying and the best thing for him to do now is just to keep his mouth shut. NAKAKAHIYA ka Senator Tito Sotto. HINDI MO ALAM ANG SINASABI AT GINAGAWA MO.
Has anybody noticed how, in his nonsensical claims of conspiracies Sotto sounds like a troll. It’s the same story he and his ilk peddle — ridiculous claims with no proof, spurious logic, the same so-called “documents” that don’t stand up to scrutiny. I’ve been seeing these trolls for more than two years now — in fact you could say Sotto himself is nothing but a troll, or as I put it, a Katoli-troll.
Sotto gave Senate a bad name! He should step down for ethics sake. I can imagine how his entire family feels. Does he still have the guts to face the public ?
I think we know the answer to that. It’s an unabashedly proud yes on his part.
We should not underestimate politicians. Most of them are from a special breed — called KAPALMUKS. Faces thicker than an elephant’s hide!! Impervious and immune to shame!
He could have passed one of the latest UPCAT essay questions that goes: “Tell a Lie and make it Believable” – or something like that. Actually, the question went as – “Tell a lie about yourself and prove it”
Sotto may be able to live with his lies and twisted analogies but I don’t know why us, the voting and tax-paying public, will have to be subjected to the same. He was clearly caught with his tail in his mouth but he does not have the fortitude to admit he goofed. People like these are why public servants and politicians are so despised and untrusted.
Plagiarism to the Strictest Sense
If we are to be very strict about plagiarism, changing one or two words from a copied paragraph is plagiarism per se. In fact, if a written or spoken piece contains thoughts that are not originally his (or hers as the case may be), even if paraphrasing was applied, non-attribution or improper attribution for the original source using any of the standard styles of documentation (APA, Harvard, Chicago, Turabian, etc.), is still an act of plagiarism. I am a published researcher and I have presented papers in international conferences. I know what I am talking about because I familiarized myself with the do’s and don’ts of plagiarism from authoritative sources. The People Share This Finds
I’ve gone just through Tito Sotto’s second speech and discovered he lifted, verbatim, from three sources found online. See below:
“Sanger was so intent on reducing family size that she seemed to not stop even at abortion. Many believe that under the right circumstances, Sanger would have condoned infanticide. Indeed she wrote in her book Woman and the New Race: “The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.” This comes from the woman who formed the philosophical base for IPPF.
But there was even a darker side to Margaret Sanger: a side that IPPF people try to cover up or explain away. That was her belief in “eugenics.” Eugenics is defined as “the application of the laws of hereditary to physical and mental improvement, especially of the human race.” To Sanger this meant the systematic elimination (through birth control, including abortion) of all those people she and her cohorts considered to be of “dysgenic stock” in order to create a race of superior intellectuals.”
–> Lifted from “Breaking up the family” by Filipino Marlon C. Ramirez.
“The two activists met in December of 1936 when Sanger traveled to India to speak with Gandhi about birth control, population and the plight of women in India. At that time, Sanger staunchly advocated the global use of artificial contraceptives and, in order to make the acceptance of such contraceptives easier to the Indian populace, sought to make Gandhi an ally.
Despite the fact that the movement was gaining popularity in a society with a serious poverty crisis, Gandhi was an outspoken critic of artificial birth control. His general attitude was that “Persons who use contraceptives will never learn the value of self-restraint. They will not need it. Self-indulgence with contraceptives may prevent the coming of children but will sap the vitality of both men and women, perhaps more of men than of women. It is unmanly to refuse battle with the devil.”
–> Lifted from a blog post Ghandi’s Birth Control of Choice:
A study undertaken by Raymond Pearl, a John Hopkins professor and noted authority on this matter, wrote: “Those who practice contraception as part of their sex life, by their own admission, resort to criminally induced abortions about three times as often proportionately as do their comparable non-contraceptor contemporaries.” Also in a report prepared for the Royal Commission on Population in Great Britain found that the incidence of induced abortion as a percentage of all pregnancies was nine times higher for women using contraceptives than for women not using birth control.
–> Lifted from a blog post, The Truth of Contraceptives:
He may have quoted also from this blog and removed the dates of the studies to hide outdated sources-
Blog version: In 1939, Raymond Pearl, a Johns Hopkins professor and noted authority, wrote: “Those who practice contraception as part of their sex life, by their own admission, resort to criminally induced abortions about three times as often propotionately as do their comparable non-contraceptor contemporaries.”
-In Great Britain, in 1949, a report prepared for the Royal Commission on Population found that the incidence of induced abortion as a percentage of all pregnancies was nine times higher for women using contraceptives than for women not using birth control.

Di Ako Takot Sa Drug Lords
Aniya ni Senador Tito Sotto;
(koda sa ‘Part 2 of Sen. Sotto’s anti-RH speech’) – Senador Tito Sotto
Basahin ang ‘Senator Vicente Sotto reinvents himself as the anti-RH champion’ (http://raissarobles.com/2011/09/25/senator-vicente-sotto-reinvents-himself-as-the-anti-rh-champion/)
It Was The Messenger’s Mistake!
Who Is Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride, MD ?
I suggest that people check out the background of this Dr. Natasha Campbell McBride that he quotes. When you do a search on Google, one of the suggested search term is “Dr Natasha Campbell McBride quack.” If you read more about her, you realize she is a Russian doctor who is considered a “quack doctor.”
When I was working in a hospital filled with International Doctors we talked about which was the Best Medical School in the world. I dunno the truth, they say it was in Egypt. And then they talked about flanking several times to get their medical licenses, A Palestinian doctor has told me, “You go to Russia and bribe the school and the Licensure Commission and you become a Doctor. Everyone who is a flanker and has got the money goes to Russia.
Yes, here’s some of her quackery: http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2011/08/01/gaps-in-a-doctors-reasoning-about-vaccines/
Punctuation Marks Error
If they were just quoting from the same source, then it highly unlikely you would commit the same error in using punctuation marks:
You do not put a comma after the word “According” in the opening sentence “According, to…”
Pati mali sa punctuation marks, kinopya! Aha hayyyy…
The giveaway that one has just plagiarized: even the mistakes are copied unthinkingly.
Yeah iskul bukol….
Spell Checked “dysbiosis”
In fairness, Sotto corrected Sarah’s blog post by correcting the spelling of “dysbiosis”.
Read The Disclaimer
The “Honorable” Senator Sotto must have been absent from an episode of Iskul Bukol that taught on “How not to be caught with your pants down.”

Speaking of jogging. I’d like to throttle a certain legislator. In the hopes of getting some working neurons. That’s me, the optimist.
Same Names Over And Over
I am most particularly disillusioned on how little has changed as to who rules the country. From over 90 million Filipinos we see the same names over and over. These people have made politics a lucrative business that they would hand down to their sons and daugthers. They can argue that they have sent their children to the best institutions and are therefore more than qualified to take over their positions. Enrile to Enrile, it makes me puke. I can go on and on. but I would be digressing.
Sotto is no different, perhaps he thinks this a great topic where he could get noticed since I cannot expect much from a comedian turned politician even if he was an English major.
